DR. GARY SMITH RECEIVES THE 2011 AAP OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD Monday, October 17, 2011  On October 17,
2011, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) presented Dr. Gary Smith,
director and principal investigator of the Center for Injury Research and
Policy with the 2011 Outstanding Achievement Award. The award, sponsored by the
Council on Community Pediatrics and the Section on Epidemiology, recognized
Dr. Smith for his outstanding contributions toward advocating for children and
child health in the community through the effective use of epidemiologic
information.
