DR. SMITH RECEIVES 2010 BEST FRIEND AWARD

On April 21, 2010, Gary Smith, MD, DrPH received the 2010 Best Friend Award from Kids in Danger, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting children by improving children’s product safety. Dr. Smith was recognized for his work on childhood injury prevention.

Over the course of his 25-year career, Dr. Smith has founded the Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, published over 100 injury-related articles in peer-reviewed journals and successfully advocated for safer consumer product standards and adoption of informed public policy.
